Jake Gyllenhaal goes vegan (at least last Saturday) and Man Vs Wild airs tonight!

After all that gnawing on any old animal that just happens to be lying around for Man Vs Wild, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Jake Gyllenhaal appears to be in vegan mode. On Saturday Jake was seen with friends at the organic and vegan Cafe Gratitude in LA. Speaking personally, I'm always ready for some palate cleansing after feasting on worms.

It's also good to see that there is some hair here, not much, but a bit, giving me hope that End of Watch might still be slightly hairy.

Talking of Man Vs Wild, the show airs in the US tonight. If you live somewhere else where you can't see it, like me, plans are afoot so watch this space!

Many thanks to IHJ for the new pics.

A nostalgic post on MovieBrit tonight!

Thanks for the update, Kate. I guess when the face pet goes bye-bye we'll know that Jake has started filming EOW. It will be interesting to see him clean-shaven again, although I have to say I like the look he was sporting on the Man vs. Wild clips.

Hi Susan! My pleasure - I'm just on tenterhooks hoping we can see the episode here too but I think everything will be all right :) I think Jake may have started End of Watch already. I much prefer the Man Vs Wild look myself :)

I have the day off work tomorrow - good timing! I have also been writing this evening on MovieBrit about the day all those years ago I mmet Tom Hanks

Thank you for that witty post Kate!
Pictures are nice. I checked the others on IHJ to see Jake with friends. He looks so fine and cool. Especially with that blue light on his face.
I like that dark shadow of growing hair on his had.

Just finished watching Man vs Wild. OMG! OMG!! What an incredible thing to do! Jake was amazing! He was "up for anything" and he got what he was after. Incredibly, we even got to see shirtless Jake when they had to cross a freezing river. Crawling on a rope across a chasm is insane - even without a fear of heights. Anybody who thinks Jake can't be an action/adventure hero type is freakin' out of his mind!! OMG!!! Eating a worm was nothing! I am so impressed!!! I can't wait to hear him talking about this adventure - I wish he would do some talk shows soon. OMG!!

I had to come here and just say OMG right along with Susan! It was amazing - simply amazing! I honestly can't come up with the right words to describe it and I'm sure Jake was so blown away by what he was doing - what an incredible experience for him. What an incredible TV watching experience for the viewers - it is NOT easy to watch. But so wild!!! I hope all of you in other parts of the world will get to see it real soon! :-)

OMG.....and WTF!!!! I don't know if I should be mad at Bear for exposing Jake to THAT ROPE AND CHASM, sailing beneath helicopters on another rope while swinging wildly in the air, or tell him I love him for convincing Jake to join him on the show(ummm...Jake shirtless and so beautifully polite and brave)! I didn't think I could love Jake anymore, but my little heart is a little bit more full after his wild misadventures and bravery on Man v Wild!

Is there a chance that this episode can be nominated for an Emmy? [That's an award given to U.S. TV programs]

Eating worms is normally unnecessary, but I did it once. When I was five, my older sister dared me to eat a caterpillar. It tasted like wild cherry tree leaves, which the caterpillar had probably been eating. I didn't much like the taste, but it didn't do any harm.

If you'd like to see a movie where people eat mealworms, try "Nim's Island."

Man Vs Wild was AWESOME! the surprise for us was shirtless Jake! (I was taping it and had to see this scene again, of course)

I wish Jake would appear on TV more often (other than award shows)

He said he hopes this is the beginning of a friendship with Bear. I think it will. Bear was very impressed with Jake and he said he had the most fun doing this with him.

Thank you Susan, Lisa, Lilly, Paul and Sweetpea for your reviews.

Shirtless Jake? So Jake and Bear have heard our prayers, although I feel really sorry for him to have to have done it in cold water. Must have reminded him of those scenes he did for TDAT.

I can't wait for someone to post the episode!
