Jake Gyllenhaal, cakes, sandwiches, yucky stuff, cocktails and Source Code

There are few sightings of Jake Gyllenhaal that could strike me with as much fear and dread as the one that featured in this week's US Weekly: 'Jake Gyllenhaal cleaning up after himself after eating a peanut butter jelly donut at Bowery Coffee in NYC'. Speaking as someone who is not only allergic to donuts but also has a pathological hatred of peanuts, butter and jelly, I think you can get a small inkling of my shock at Jake's consumption of this so-called 'treat'. I do, however, like coffee.

It's doubly shocking then to read an article about Source Code which compares the film to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Personally, I see it more as a chocolate fondant, or at least something with marshmallows in it. In order to redress the balance after tales of fearsome cakes and snacks, it's extremely heartening to be able to post a picture of a cocktail that the Dutch in NYC makes for Jake and where he has been spotted in tweets. Thanks to BBMISwear for finding this and to BolsGeneva for sharing it.

As awards season approaches, do take a look at the Source Code feature 'For Your Consideration ' over at ManMadeMovies.

My review of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is now up at MovieBrit.

You're so funny Kate! You don't like or can not eat so many normal food things!
It was nice of Jake to clean up after himself after eating a peanut butter jelly donut. I would like to see that. Or at least a photo. That means he cares. It's so normal, but so rare in today's world. People leave a mess everywhere.
For me Source Code is rather like a creme brulee. :)Just delicious!

Hi Mermon! It sounds like he made a big mess :D I have to say, though, I eat plenty of normal things - it's other people who don't...

My review of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is now up at MovieBrit. It's a personal impression... :D

Hi Kate, sorry but I did not understand what you mean by, "and maybe even vote for any awards that you can participate in," where to vote? Even being over praised, and be in several tops best film of 2011 (with honors), polls do not even cited in various surveys and SC is very unlikely that he be nominated for any award, unfortunately.
I do not know how this works, but there is still some hope of SC win something? Understand?

You understand what I mean? Lol

A belated Merry Christmas to you For and I wish you every happiness for 2012a so good to see you :)

Hi Daniela! Is this from the ManMadeMovies post? The post is a plea to those who can vote - for BAFTA or the Academy - to consider Source Code. Let's hope they do! Although I have my doubts...

I hope you've all had a good day and are getting ready to welcome in 2012!

Yes this post is, as I said above I have no hope of it being nominated for a prize (unfairly) but I'm happy to have had the SC which took effect

A great last day of 2011, come back tomorrow to wish you a Happy 2012
